Urban Poverty and Sustainable Development Goals: Private Sector’s Role in Bangladesh
Livelihoods Improvement of Urban Poor Communities (LIUPC) project was launched in 2018 by the Local Government Division (LGD) in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Department for International Development (DFID). LIUPC will contribute to achieving 13 goals among the 17 Global Goals through improvement in the livelihoods and living conditions of 4 million people in 36 city Corporations and Paurashavas, focusing on women and children. The role of the private sector in promoting sustainable economic growth and reducing urban poverty is critical and together we can make the lives of millions of urban poor better.
