LIUPCP promotes climate-resilient infrastructure to tackle disaster impact in Bangladesh
Boyra is one the climate-vulnerable areas of Khulna where around 7500 urban poor inhabitants face severe environmental hazards for water-logging. Their everyday lives have been affected for years. Livelihoods Improvement of Urban Poor Communities Project (LIUPCP) through its CRMIF (Climate Resilient Municipal Infrastructure Fund) initiative offers solutions to such environmental hazards. Construction of reinforced cement concrete (RCC) road and slope protection along with tree plantation initiative brought hopes for people. Inspired by LIUPCP initiative, now the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) authorities have decided to go for dredging the waterlogged canal for the locality. The video documentary illustrates how Khulna has been facing climate vulnerabilities with support from LIUPCP.
