Addressing a check handover program online, Chattogram City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said that Tumpa was one of the most proactive and energetic SENF who died while working for the project. “Tumpa was dedicated and committed community front liner,” the Mayor said thanking all the staffs who contributed to the fund to support the children.

He also appreciated the role of DFID and UNDP for the emergency response initiatives under LIUPC project during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Staffs and front line workers of LIUPC project work here like a family and they have proved that any complex development initiative can be implemented if we can work sincerely,” the Mayor said adding, “The team here works with utmost sincerity and defying the risk of life, which is highly commendable.”

“I am extremely grateful to DFID and UNDP for their tremendous support,” he added.

Md Abdul Mannan, National Project Director of LIUPCP, expressed deep shock at the death of Humaira Mahmuda Tumpa and said this support will help the children to continue their education. He prayed for the salvation of her departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
